INTERVIEW WITH CURTIS MUHAMMAD
INTERVIEW WITH CURTIS MUHAMMAD
Directed / Produced by Ashley Hunt
The Corrections Documentary Project
17 minutes / 2005
A 2003 interview, originally intended for another video, was so compelling that the director decided to make it into its own video. The result is this 17-minute conversation with Curtis Muhammad, a civil rights and labor leader who, at the time, worked as an organizer for the textile union, Unite Here in New Orleans. Drawing on his lifetime of lessons learned, he speaks to racism, globalization and imprisonment, bringing important challenges to the Left in how it is organized and who is respected within it to lead.
In Memory of Curtis Muhammad
