HOUSING, PROCESS, MOVEMENT

This multi-channel video installation was made as a part of Hunt’s initial research into the prison system, including elements that would be incorporated into the visuals of CORRECTIONS.

“Housing, Process, Movement” is a 3-part video installation built from appropriated photographs, archival film, news footage and literature used to promote prison architecture, prison corporations, and processes of criminalization by the state.

Manipulated and recombined into loops, repetitions and impossible camera pans, its parts suggest a perpetual production of subjects and contradictory systems that anticipated Hunt’s first feature documentary on the system, Corrections (2001).
